The following story perfectly illustrates what Science Bits has meant for my classes. During one of our school’s open house events, a visiting parent asked the students who were introducing the school to prospective families, «Why should I send my child to this school instead of another one?» One of our students answered without hesitation, «Because here we study science in English with Science Bits.»

Our students have been extremely motivated by the Science Bits materials. The images, videos, and concept maps—and especially the continual stream of activities and questions throughout every lesson—have sparked their curiosity and sustained their interest. Science Bits has helped me inspire a genuine passion for science.

At the same time, the constructivist approach that underpins each unit, while still providing the essential conceptual foundations, has led to highly meaningful learning and a strong understanding of scientific concepts.

This year we decided to use Science Bits in English, and the language has proven to be not an obstacle but an additional source of motivation. It has created opportunities for interdisciplinary learning between English and natural science classes while helping both students and teachers strengthen their scientific English.
